Supporting the Danny Evans Memorial Tournament With Purpose

Branded to Inspire: Helping Power the Danny Evans Memorial Tournament Experience

The Danny Evans Memorial Baseball Tournament honors the life and legacy of one of the Inland Northwest’s most respected coaches. A former player and longtime associate head coach at Gonzaga University, Danny Evans was known for developing not only great athletes, but exceptional young men. His values of grit, humility, and leadership live on through this tournament, held at venues deeply tied to his journey, especially Coach Steve Hertz Field, where he once played and coached.

After a year-long battle with stage 4 melanoma, Danny passed away in 2022. In his memory, the tournament now brings together hundreds of athletes and fans to compete, connect, and give back.

Since the event’s inception, College Hill has proudly sponsored the tournament by donating custom-branded player bags and SPF chapstick. Items that are both practical and symbolic. It’s a small way to honor Danny’s story while helping enhance the experience for every athlete involved.

The Project

Honoring a Legacy Through Every Detail

As the Danny Evans Memorial Tournament expands to two weekends this June, welcoming over 425 athletes across premier venues in the Inland Northwest so does the need to deliver a consistent, elevated experience for players, families, and fans. Tournament organizers sought branded merchandise that would be both practical and meaningful, while also supporting the emotional purpose behind the event. They needed items that could honor Coach Danny Evans’ legacy, scale with the tournament’s growth, and reflect the professionalism and spirit of the weekend. In addition, they aimed to provide families with a seamless apparel experience that reinforced the event’s impact and identity from the moment they arrived.

What We Brought to the Field

To support the tournament’s continued growth and upcoming expansion to two weekends this June, College Hill is proud to return as a sponsor, providing custom-branded player bags and SPF chapstick for every athlete. These thoughtfully selected items are designed to enhance the player experience, offering a consistent, elevated touch through swag bags, and a practical, symbolic detail in the SPF chapstick. In alignment with the tournament’s commitment to a seamless fan experience, we launched a virtual apparel pop-up before last year's event, allowing families to pre-order exclusive, event-branded gear. This ensures fans can arrive tournament-ready and united, reinforcing the event’s spirit, professionalism, and deep sense of purpose from the first pitch forward.

The Impact

As the Danny Evans Memorial Tournament prepares for its biggest year yet with two weekends of competition and expanded age divisions, the opportunity to make a lasting impact is greater than ever. The event continues to grow in visibility, community support, and purpose, all while honoring the legacy of a coach who left an indelible mark on the game. College Hill is honored to play a small part in this effort, providing branded pieces that add meaning and elevate the overall experience. We remain committed to supporting the tournament’s mission and look forward to helping carry Danny’s legacy forward one thoughtful detail at a time.

The Legacy Continues

Continuing Danny’s Impact

The Danny Evans Memorial Tournament is more than just a competition, it’s a celebration of leadership, character, and the lasting impact one coach can have on a community. As the event continues to grow with expanded age divisions and increased exposure for young athletes, so does its ability to make a difference. Proceeds from the tournament benefit Danny’s memorial fund, his two young children, cancer research, and the Northwest Bison Baseball program.
